My educational philosophy

I believe strongly in instilling the fundamental literacy and numeracy skills that young people need for a successful academic life and fruitful future. Along with these, critical thinking and other skills are essential for flourishing in a rapidly changing world. To achieve this, educators must understand their students’ prior knowledge and interests, delivering developmentally appropriate lessons that inspire students to expand their learning in ways they are ready for. As a lifelong bookworm, I am also passionate about sharing a love for literature with my students.

My educational philosophy

Play-based learning is a big part of my teaching philosophy. Kids who learn through play have more authentic experiences, exploring and discovering the world naturally in ways that make the process more engaging and likely to make a lasting impact. I believe every student has their own story and deserves a chance to create and share it. I encourage my students to approach learning as individuals, and I know I’m succeeding when they show a real interest in showing up and learning more every day.
